The Essential Self-Care Steps When Getting Ready for a Girls’ Vacation

As with most things in life, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. This is indeed true when it comes to getting yourself ready for a girls’ vacation. After all, you don't want to find yourself completely stressed out a couple of days before you leave because you are unable to get your required appointments or because you haven't had enough time to build up your self-tan shade.

To save you from this nightmare, here are three essential self-care steps to get yourself prepared for a memorable leisure trip:

1. Think ahead for big things.

A few weeks before you jet off with the girls, you want to start using an exfoliating body wash during your shower twice a week to shed dry and dead skin. Then, once out of the shower, pat your skin dry and instantly apply a moisturizer with jojoba or shea butter for the ultimate hydration.

About two weeks before your holiday, opt to apply self-tanner so that you can get a glowing complexion without suffering through excess sun exposure. Generally, it is preferable to apply a gradual formulation that increasingly develops color throughout several applications. Once you’ve reached your desired shade, keep that color by applying a light amount of product every few days.

By sorting these things out in advance, you reduce your stress while also ensuring that you are ready to go when the (exciting) first day of the trip arrives.

2. Book yourself a day at the salon.

Once you have got your exfoliation and self-tan routine under control, you will then want to spend a day at the salon treating yourself to some new and innovative treatments, as well as old favorite pampering sessions.

Ideally, you want to get treatments that are going to reduce the amount of time you have to spend getting ready while on vacation. For this reason, getting semi-permanent gel nail designs is a fantastic idea because they last long enough that you won't have to be worrying about chipped or broken nails.

Additionally, lash and brow tints help your face to appear more bright and beautiful while also bringing stunning definition and structure. As they tend to last for four to six weeks, it is one of the best beauty investments you can make. That’s because most people don't need to wear too much make-up on top of the tint.

A girls’ vacation is best enjoyed when you have great skin, which is more likely to happen if you book yourself an appointment for a CACI microdermabrasion treatment appointment. This can help to treat any skin condition (whether you have pigmented, oily/acne or mature skin) while also fighting lines and wrinkles.

If you want to show up for the girl's vacation with calm, smooth, and blemish-free skin, then this is an option for you.

3. Find ways to practice self-care while traveling.

One of the biggest mistakes people make when they are traveling (whether for work or play, or a mixture of both) is to neglect any form of self-care completely.

While it may seem like being on the trip is enough self-care, the truth is that travel can quickly start to take a toll on your mental and physical health. Therefore, while on the road, it is highly recommended that you maintain as many of your daily routines as possible.

First and foremost, ensure you are listening to your body and refrain from pushing yourself so much that you end up worn out, sleep-deprived, and in need of a whole other vacation to recover from this holiday once you arrive back home. Allow yourself to experience your vacation at your own pace and don't feel pressured to do everything that your girlfriends are doing.
