5 Small Changes That Have Significant Positive Consequences for Your Health

You don’t have to completely overhaul your entire way of living to start being a healthier version of yourself; in fact, some of the smallest changes can make the biggest difference. Moreover, once you have started to implement one, you tend to start changing other habits as well.

Read on for five small changes that have significant positive consequences for your health.

1. Organize your kitchen to encourage healthy eating.

One of the easiest but most effective things you can do for your health is to give your kitchen cupboards and refrigerator a complete makeover.

First, you want to place your fruits and vegetables inside clear containers and then arrange them at eye level, so that when you first open the refrigerator door, these healthy items are the first things you see. Even better, keep individual servings of carrots, hummus, and yogurt near the front (or your favorite healthy food items) so that you can easily reach for them when you crave a snack.

The point of creating this new system is that you are setting yourself up to spontaneously make healthier choices which, in turn, will improve your overall health and wellbeing.

In a similar vein, placing smaller bowls and plates at the front of your cupboards will help you to have smaller, more balanced meals. It is even more effective if you have smaller dishes in bright colors as you are less likely to overeat when your plate is of a different color to your food.

2. Commit to daily meditation.

If you are anything like most people, there is a good chance that you know you should be regularly meditating, but you still have a hard time committing to a practice. This is a shame because the benefits of meditation are so significant even if you only do it for 10 minutes a day. Plus, once you have learned the techniques, you will be able to use deep breathing to take mini breaks no matter where you are, or whatever may be going on around you.

For example, If you are struggling with stress, learning how to breathe deeply will help to calm you down and keep you centered. Other science-backed benefits of meditation include controlling anxiety, strengthening mental health, heightening self-awareness, increasing attention span, decreasing age-related memory loss, creating kindness, improving sleep quality, and lowering blood pressure.

If you are unsure about how can start to commit to daily meditation, you can download an app such as Headspace that will walk you through the process and help you to maintain a meditation schedule.

3. Find a workout buddy.

exercising can be a lot of fun; you just have to find the right firm for you and a partner who will help to keep you accountable and engaged. With so many different types of workouts to choose from, if you haven’t found one that you enjoy, then you need to keep looking.

Whether it is long solo runs, barre classes with your best friends, evening walks with your dog and partner, or something else, you need to be active in order to improve your health.

There are so many benefits to moving your body, including the fact that it can help boost your mood. Whether you are feeling depressed, stressed, anxious, or worried, doing a medium- to high-intensity workout (30-minute walk, a HIIT class, or a bit of swimming) is guaranteed to leave you feeling better in no time.

Plus, exercise is a fun and wholesome way to hang out with friends because it can help you get outside your head and put your worries or stresses in perspective while helping you maintain your social life!

Personally, I am grateful for my love for the sport of lacrosse that helped me stay always active while I also made some of my best friends through playing that sport.

4. Try the keto diet.

The keto diet is one of the most popular ways to eat at the moment, thanks to its wide range of health benefits.

As a low-carb diet, this eating plan is highly-regarded due to its promise of swift weight loss through the manipulation of the body’s metabolism. While on the keto diet, you consume a combination of high-fat dishes (75 percent of your daily calories), moderate protein (20 percent), and very low-carb (5 percent).

By lowering your carbohydrate intake, you are striving to put your body in a metabolic state known as ketosis, which is when fat is utilized as fuel rather than carbohydrates. The benefits of following the keto diet include a reduced risk of inflammation, boost in brain function, weight loss, and higher levels of energy.

For many people, combining the keto diet with intermittent fasting (IF) brings the most significant amount of benefits. Alternatively, replacing your breakfast meal with a Bulletproof Coffee is a fantastic way to start your day. Bulletproof Coffee combines high-quality coffee beans, with grass-fed, unsalted butter or ghee, and Brain Octane Oil for a combination that will have you losing fat, gaining muscle, and being a more productive and alert individual.

5. Establish (and stick to) a sleep schedule.

At the end of the day, no matter how much you change in terms of your diet or your exercise routine, if you aren’t getting good quality sleep on a regular basis, then you are undermining your health in a significant way.

Unfortunately, due to modern-day busy and incredibly stimulating lifestyles, too many people are not getting the necessary amount of sleep or are suffering from insomnia. People’s reliance on digital gadgets and internet addiction have also fuelled this problem of insufficient sleep.

Getting enough sleep is vital because it helps you stay healthier, maintain or lose weight, reduce the chance of severe health issues, reduce stress and improve your mood, think more clearly, and make healthy decisions throughout your waking hours.

By establishing and sticking to a sleep schedule, you can expect to see many benefits across the board. Seek to go to bed and get up at the same time every day, and spray your bed with lavender to help you fall asleep. Armed with a good night’s sleep, you will be in a better position to make healthy choices in other aspects of your life.

So there; these are all healthy changes you can easily make to improve your overall health and wellbeing. There’s no need to do them all at the same time, but beginning with one or two and committing to them would certainly be a great start.
